Acadia Equine Rehabilitation was founded after Jenny’s mare, Acadia, needed bilateral stifle surgery to repair severe cruciate ligament and meniscus injuries. Jenny was passionate then about getting her horse safely on the road to recovery, and that passion shines through to this day in her desire to help other horse owners with the same journey. Here at Acadia, we understand how stressful and overwhelming the rehabilitation process can be. Whether you have a post-surgical horse that needs a quiet environment, bandage changes and constant monitoring, or a mare that needs a safe place to foal; we can provide a high level of excellent, individualized care for your horse. Having a sick or injured horse is stressful enough, let us manage the day to day care and rehabilitation so that you can get back to enjoying your horse again as quickly as possible! Having your horse away from home can be unnerving. To make it easier, we’ll update you frequently with news of your horse’s progress. You will feel well informed even if you’re not local. When your horse is in our care, we’ll also schedule and attend farrier and veterinary (and other team member) appointments in addition to managing regular care, supplements, grooming, blanketing and feeding protocols. Don’t have a way to get your horse to us? No worries. We can haul your horse (2003 Equi Spirit straight load goose-neck) suited for both local and long-distance trips. High quality, experienced rehabilitation and lay-up care provided by AER will help give your horse the best possible chance at a full recovery.
